The system was later upgraded to provide copy-flow facilities, allowing slot editors to allocate work to rim editors within the same, and to other slots.

The implementation allows workgroups of editors where there will be one Slot Editor and one or more Rim Editors. per workgroup.

The function of the Slot Editor is to monitor the wires using the Bin system and allocate work to Rim Editors directly from source. The Slot Editor is able to see what the workloads are for each Rim Editor.

All Rim Editors have a special Work bin that contains their allocations, and allow them to work on the items, using the preferred editor (Reporters Workbench). The act of opening a work item is visible to the Slot Editor as is the act of closing the item, which signaling to the Rim Editor that the work has been completed.

The Slot Editor can also function as a Rim Editor, allowing a multi-level hierarchy of Slot Editors. Therefore a Slot Editor at the top of the hierarchy can allocate work to Rim Editors below, who are actually Slot Editor's in their own right, who will delegate workload to their own Rim Editors.
